someone has installed something that infected my MSN and sends everyone on my list junk emails. I've tried 3 different virus scans, AVG, Bit defender and Avast. Tried panda but thats not compatible and tried housecall but that just crashes everytime in java and plugin modes. scanned with spybot and adaware and found nothing, and unfortunatly my old pc runs linux and i dont know windows vista processes to save my life. Any help is appretiated

Sorry for the delay. That's an interesting infection you have there. It will take a couple of runs at this to remove it so please be patient.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference

2. Any of the remove tools we use, in Vista you need to "Run as Administrator" when prompted.

3. Please download the Killbox.1)Save it to the desktop
2) Rt Click->>Extract all->.Extract it to your Desktop
3) Double Click Killbox.exe to run it
4)Select "Delete on Reboot", and then select "All files".
5) Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:C:\Windows\system32\unsrvc.exe

6) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
7) Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button.  Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
[/list]4. Copy and paste the following into NotePad (Not Wordpad)sc stop netpker
sc delete netpker
sc stop windownetpker
sc delete windownetpker

Click File ->>Save as ->>type in cmd.batUnder "Save as type" Select "all files" ->>Save it to your Desktop
Close Notepad
The cmd.bat file should now appear on your Desktop (if it saved properly it should appear as a blue box with a gear in the middle of it)
Double Click that file (It will appear that nothing has happened, but that's o.k.)
5. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entriesR3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [license ante] "C:\ProgramData\partcurbcurb.zzvn454"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [unsrvc] C:\Windows\system32\unsrvc.exe -runservice

Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select "Fix checked"

Close Hijackthis ->> Reboot your PC ->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log

Given the destructive nature of this infection we are going to try to remove it manually. It is linked to the PC crashing.

We will have to do this in a couple of steps

1. Re Run HijackthisAt the Main window select "Open the misc tool section"
Then select "Open uninstall manager"
Then "save list" and save it to your desktop
Copy and paste that list as a reply to this thread
