So my increasingly computer-curious son - 8 (his age, not his name) - doesn't know why not to download a "special" codec to watch a Halo video. I should have kept a closer eye on him as he clicked around.

Anyway, I got the leosrv toolbar virus/malware/spyware mess. My first infection since I started on (as in programming) computers back in the heady days of the trash-80. Man that makes me feel old.

So, my $40/year McAfee subscription proved worthless the very first time it needed to do anything. And AdAware 2007 SE proved worth every penny of its $0 price. So I am here to learn all about SuperAntiSpyware, ComboFix, HJT and SDFix. Did I miss anything? I'm about to find out.

Wish me luck...

You will certainly get a malware education here at BC! Be sure to pass it on to your son.
