I recently tried to copy a CD for a friend, but it wouldn't let me copy it to another CD, it kept saying read-only. So, I tried to copy it to my hard drive and that worked. But, when I try to download the files off of my hard drive, to a CD/DVD, it won't let me. What can I do?

Try Right-Clicking on each file. Then Left-Click on Properties. You can uncheck the Read Only box, if you have the proper permissions. Hit OK and then try and copy the file.

Hope this helps.

What type of CD are you trying to copy? Is it music or something else? What software are you using to burn the CD and exactly what error message(s) do you get?
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who haven't got it.

You cannot copy to a CD...you must burn the data onto the CD. Copying only works with storage media, e.g., hard drives, floppies...which are writeable/erasable. A CD is burned in, non-eraseable, which is why it's read-only (cannot be edited on a CD).

If I don't understand your situation, forgive me .
