If they are both home or pro you shouldn't have any problem.

I'm a little confused on how many CD's you have, 1,2 or 3? If you have XP, and SP1 and SP2, you install XP and, from what I've been told, you can then put in SP2 because it has all the udates that SP1 has. If you have XP with SP2, just use that CD. If you have XP with SP1, install it then the update SP2. I hope that makes sense....

FWIW....the key has nothing to do with using an original XP or XP SP1 or XP SP2 disk.

As long as the key is good for that system and that O/S, it works .

you will find out quick enough if your xp w/sp2 cd is the right version when the numbers don't work

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.
