My Windows XP SP2 system has been infected with a type of virus I cannot kill, even after running several spyware removal recommended here. I'm hoping someonecan help me figure out why my system startup process has changed. It now takes three times as long, and a new light blue screen pops up early in the boot up process. This screen has a navy bar at the top, with a very low resolution "Windows XP" logo on the right side, another navy blue bar across the bottom of the screen. In the center of the screen where its light blue, four lines pop up one after the other saying:

Checking File System on C:
The Type of file system is NTFS.
Cannot open volume for direct access
Windows has finished checking the disk.
....

I attached a picture of the screen.

After that, the boot up process continues, but at a very slow pace. If I just run the computer using Outlook or some Adobe applications, the system seems to be ok. The moment I launch Internet Explorer, I notice the desktop icons flash and sometimes go away for a few seconds. I also start getting bombarded with new browser windows popping up with advertising and promoting websites.

Has anyone experiencing this startup screen problem? Can you recommend a software or process I can use to resolve my problem? I'm tired of trying, and it all seems to come back.

Thank you.
Alex

My system is infected because as soon as I start Internet Explorer, I get pop-ups all the time. I've scanned the system with BitDefender, found several infected files and deleted them. I also ran CCleaner and SUPERAntiSpyware, but I still have something in the system I cannot find and delete.

I get a blue screen during system restart, which comes up right after Windows XP starts loading, here is a picture of it:

I've also tried to restart in SAFE MODE, but the system starts scanning all the SYS files and then freezes up. Here is a picture of that:

Please let me know how I can eliminate this virus. I ran HijackThis, and below is the scan report. I really appreciate any help you can provide me. Thank you!!!
