i need your help guys if possible.
When i start up my pc windows seems like its starting up but then i get a message saying "system error object name invalid"
i click on ok on this message and all i get is a black screen.
No obvious reason as to what has caused this, it was working ok yesterday
Hope its not fatal ?
Any suggestions ?

What was the last thing you did before this happened?

Is that the entire message? Anything there to point to what exactly may be invalid?

shut down as normal the previous night.
The wife was tidying up the next day and may have unplugged things but she says the computer was not on.
Turned on the computer that night and the message decribed appeared. All the message says is "system error" "object name invalid" "ok"
No indication as to what is invalid

Have you tried rebooting in safe mode? When I've gotten an odd error message at bootup, sometimes that alone has done the trick, and sometimes I've had to run diagnostic services. (Can't advise you on the latter, since it's been a long time since I've had to do that.)

The instruction at "0x00010010" referenced memory at "0x75b6a5bc" the memory could not be "".
Stumped ?
