Hi. I hid a file in 'My Documents' by changing its attribute in 'properties' to 'hidden'. Now I can't see the file even thought the selected setting in 'folder option' is 'show hidden files and folders'. I don't know how to fix this. Can anybody help? Thanks for the support.

Ok try this

a)Open up command promtp (start > run > type cmd)
b. You'll see this line

C:\Documents and Settings\<accout name>

c) type cd my documents, hopefully it will show you

C:\Documents and Settings\<account name>\My Documents

d) type attrib -h (for unhiding hidden files/folders)

That should do it, if the folder or file is there it will be visible. Or if it doesnt you might have deleted it in the first place where I believe you didnt. Good luck

I tried what you suggested and I'm getting the message in cdm: "Not resseting system file - C:\...My documents\desktop.ini". The file is still hidden and not deleted because when I select the folder in which the file is, it says "1 hidden file" in brackets in the status bar.
