Hi. Please download and install the program Registry Lite from here:

http://www.resplendence.com/reglite

Once it is installed, please double click on the icon that should now be on your desktop. If an icon is not there, then check under programs portion of the Start Menu.

Once it is opened, copy and paste the below line, into the address field of Registrar Lite.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\\AppInit_DLLs

And press enter. You will now be presented with new information in the bottom right and left sections and on the right section, the name AppInit_DLLs should be highlighted. Double-click on the AppInit_DLLs entry and copy and paste the text found in the value field in your next reply to this post.

in a step that i should have taken before i posted my original information, i went to the self-help section and i'm currently taking the steps to get about:blank off my pc right now. if i have any more issues with this, i will let you know.

the name of the file after i took those steps in registrar lite was:
c:\windows\system32\sqlcdpd.dll

i have a new problem with the sqlcdpl.dll file, when i try to manually delete it, it gives me the message that it is read-only, and i can't change it. would rebooting in safe mode solve this problem or not?

Hi theknife

Highlight that file and right click and select properties. Remove the check mark from the Read only box and click Apply and OK. You should now be able to delete it.

That would then indicate that the file was in use. You may be ablle to delete it in safe mode. Certainly worth trying.

Take a look at You cannot delete a file or a folder on an NTFS file system volume.

Another thread here indicates Kapersky anti-virus can remove the se.dll problem.

Leurgy, I think its theinfection causing this problem.

See if you can rename the file and then reboot and then delete it. Also can you make a copy of that file to c:\ drive and submit to me before you remove it?

There are other ways to tackle this but want to try these first.
