I just went back to windows update and scanned for updates again, It listed three critical updates that show up in the installation history as being successful and show up in my add and remove programs. Why? And should I download them again?

Yeah,

I downloaded them again and it seems to be fine now.

I also downloaded This.

Once installed you go to run -cmd -and type qfecheck at the dos prompt and you will get a list of all the hotfixes, and it will tell you if it needs to be reinstalled.

thank you, Jaspossum, this is sweet.

I've been screenshooting the info while in windows update and putting it in a file because of some inconsistancies in the past ...sorta like those you've mentioned.
