Not sure if its a problem or not as this is Vista we are talking about here  but i notice that the internet is very slow indeed, for example, i downloaded drivers for my graphics cards just as a trial (63mb i think it was) and it took ages using Vista with a download speed of 34Kbps, i done this twice and was no change in download speed, i then done the same download using Xp Pro and was downloading at 748Kbps which took a few mins, i notice this alot and was wondering why this is if its a vista problem or if there is something i can alter to change this? my internet connection is a 8mb broadband ADSL, so waht i do now is download using XP and drag it to my Vista H/D

It could be many different things. There's more network settings in Vista. I could be that your router has issues with Visa - or that your ISP does (although that's becoming less common these days).

Try this free, online Internect Connectivity Evaluation Tool (requires Internet Explorer) to see if there's any issues that are obvious: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/using/too...gd/default.mspx
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

Thanks, i tried the link and everything is supported so looks fine there, I guess i will be dumping Vista for a while as to me this was made for people who like pretty things on their screen rather than a O/S that does a job and does it well, ive given it a chance and it failed, i did say too myself, if i asked 3 questions and still needed to ask more i would dump it and wait 12 mths  thanks for the help anyway and as usual very helpful
