I bought generic ink cartridges and installed them into the C82 but the printer software doesn't recognize them and refuses to work. Is there anyway to bypass this? The manufacturer of the generic cartridges says that if this happens to simply take them out and reinstall, but that doesn't work; I get the same results.

a couple of extra steps

"Make sure you removed any printhead tape or protective clip on the cartridge. Ensure the back of the cartridge is free from any particles by wiping it with a damp paper towel along with the circuits the cartridge touches inside the printer. You can also unplug the printer while the printer is on and wait 2 minutes before plugging back in. This should reset the printer. Epson cartridges should not be removed, but make sure it is seated all the way down and unplug machine. Also, by following the cartridge installing utility on your printer driver will solve the problem."
