OS = Windows XP w Service pack 2. After turning on my computer, the mouse pointer is frozen in the middle of the screen. I can navigate the screen with Tab and arrows, etc, but no mouse. After a restart or 2 the mouse again works. Can someone help me with this annoying little problem, please?

Hiya,

You didn't mention in your question what type of mouse connection you are using, PS2, USB or Wireless. Equally, does it have a roller ball or optical input ?

Regards,

Tony.

Have you tried a different mouse?
Have you tried updating the drivers?
Have you tried uninstalling it, in the Device Manager?
Right-click My Computer / Hardware tab / Device Manager button
Locate your mouse, right-click it, and select Uninstall.
Reboot, and see if it works.
