Posted 06 December 2007 - 09:48 PM

My laptop suddenly shut down.
Now I get a popup on startup that says Symantec Email Proxy
Windows firewall is now turned off and can't be turned back on
System restore lost all restore points before this happened even though it was turned on
I can't start Windows Firewall/Internet connection sharing (ICS) service

An updated Symantec Client Security will run an antivirus check and find nothing. An updated Ad-aware 2007 finds nothing critical. And Spybot suddenly ends saying that user aborted the scan even though I didn't. Stinger comes out clean.

Thanks!
