A friend just broke some of the pins off her CPU, which according to her machine specs is a AMD ATH64 3200 2.0GHZ 2000FSB 512K 939P. Her PC is an emachine D6417.

How do I find out what the upgrade processor would be? I've been trying for an hour and just can't figure it out.

Thanks for the help.

P.S. Is there a good online store to buy a new processor from? She's in the USA & I'm in Australia, so I'm not sure about sites she could purchase from.

She can get a new processor from Newegg.com. Here is a Link to the compatible CPU. As far as upgrading to a better processor it all depends on what the motherboard will support and E-machines doesn't supply that information. There are Dual core processors available for the 939 platform but they may not work in that computer. They have an exact replacement for $39.00 US.

Thanks so much. I hate to be a pain, but I want to make sure I'm telling her the right one & there were 8 processors on that page. Is THIS the right one?

Thanks again!!
