O.K. folks, heres the deal. Bought pc in april. vista home basic already installed. Had to have it reformatted back to original condition when bought. Errors kept ocurring. chatted with dell tech. was sent install cd. was told to use repair option. mistakenly re-installed Windows instead. since then everything on pc has been messed up. Have tried everything to get pc back where it was. no luck. QUESTION: would it be pheasible for me to do a clean install using install cd in order to get it back?

Check your Device Manager to see if you're missing drivers. Go to Start and type in "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter. If there's any devices with red x's or yellow !'s, you may need to install drivers to get the system to work properly.

FYI - here's a link that describes the Device Manager: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...cname=c00817093

For the drivers for your Dell, go to this link and enter your Service Tag number, that should get the drivers that you need: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/...;l=en&s=gen
