I've been trying to figure out what's causing my laptop fan to be running loudly and more than usual. I think I may have resolved it using the Startup List on this forum, Autoruns, and the tutorials

My question is about svchost.exe Under the startup list, there are several listing most of which are spyware, key loggers, etc. Is svchost.exe a legitiamate program running in the background?

Thanks for your expertise.
