Hi
I have run Mailwasher for a long time & find it useful.
I go to Mailwasher to check my incoming pop mails!
When i click on a link in a familiar mail, i get a box saying:-

'Mailwasher could not point the browser to the link (2)'

This only happen if my browser isn't already open!

If the browser is already open, i don't get this, it just opens the link in a new tab as it used to!

What could be the problem!!

I use Windows xp pro & my browser is Firefox!

I hope someone can help

Thanks

wf

If you have the Google Toolbar, this is a known problem. If you have it try disabling it

Ok, i tryed something, i clicked on the 'G' & got a drop down menu with a list of search engines.

I highlighted 'Google' & clicked 'remove'.

It removed it, replacing it with the next toolbar, 'Yahoo' .

I closed my browser, opened Mailwasher & clicked on a link in a mail & the same happened!

! WARNING
Mailwasher could not point the web browser at the link (2).

Should i delete all toolbars?? , maybe!

Thanks
wf

You have to remove the toolbar, not just the Google search engine

The article I found for your problem just mentioned the Google Toolbar, not any others. You can try removing the others. You can always reinstall them
Forgot you had Firefox

Did you try another browser and not have this problem? The first thing to do is remove all the extensions and ad- ons, then add them back one by one until the problem reoccurs. I've had my own problems with Firefox since the last update and finaaly gave up on it. Here was my problem:

I uninstalled 'Talk Back' & still i get the 'WARNING', i have no more add-ons or extensions!
In themes, i get Firefox default theme & Orange (my ISP) theme for firefox! .
I don't know what themes are, so i'm stumped!

Cheers

Export your Favorites to I.E., so you still have them, and uninstall/reinstall Firefox. Then you're starting out fresh

I don't have any favourite addons on FF, but i uninstalled it & reinstalled it & still the same thing happened!
Should it start a fresh? All my bookmarks, history & settings remained the same!

I have version 2.0.0.9 on my USB stick, so i uninstalled version 2.0.0.11 which is the latest version & installed 2.0.0.9.

I went to Mailwasher, clicked on a link in a mail & a box appeared saying 'finding latest addons', which lasted around 3 seconds & then the message arrived again:-

'Warning, Mailwasher couldn't point the link to the browser (2)'

So i guess it's an addon problem, but when i go to addons i get in 'Extensions' - Talkback & in 'Themes' - Firefox (default) 2 default theme!!

Confusing
