Hi All,

I thought that people got in big trouble for downloading stuff off of Limewire, what happened to that?

Wikipedia says this about Limewire:

"LimeWire offers two versions of the software: LimeWire Basic which is free of charge; the other is LimeWire PRO which costs a small fee, features faster download speeds and better search results, including up to 6 months of free updates and customer support via email."

Here is something interesting to read from the Limewire forums, which addresses the legal questions of Limewire Pro:

The chances of downloading malware or corrupted files are there as with any P2P network. The concept itself is not illegal. In fact there are many legitimate reasons for using P2P. Downloading Linux distributions are a lot easier. It's downloading copyrighted material where you get in trouble

Hi garmanma, Thanks for the reply.

I guess it was the copyrighted thingy that I've been hearing about people getting in trouble over, cause their kids, relatives, or neighbors kids had downloaded music from there.

I guess I'm safe though as I don't go anywhere near that service.

I recently downloaded the free Limewire Pro 4.12.3 from the Limewire site but couldn't find it again just now.

This one should do it, http://www.limewireguide.info/free-limewir...re-pro-for-free

No skullduggery  .
