Hello,

If you don't use Logitech Desktop Messenger, then please uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs. It'll tidy up that log a lot, and most people don't use it anyway. Reboot your computer after.

I see you used Norton at one time. Did you try to uninstall it?

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

Also check all those 018s relating to the Desktop Messenger.

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Navigate to and delete the following folders/files (if they exist):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\tuvtuur.dll
C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger<---- this folder
38.dll<---you may have to do a Windows search for this one, but it should be in System32

Reboot your computer.

Please run ComboFix again and post the report. We'll see what's left and go from there. How is it running?

Thanks,
tea

Uninstalled Logitech Mesenger, had norton and uninstalled it. Ran Hijack and deleted those, no 018 found.
Scared to put it online using 2 computers to do this have all security disabled.

Would not let me delete tuvtuur.dll even from cmd prompt.
said it was in use. searched C: drive no 38.dll found.

Rebooted and Combo Fix is as follows:

Hello,

Please open Notepad and copy and paste the text present inside the code box below (don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4 as well):

REGEDIT4
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{1A589AA6-EDDD-4552-AB9A-4EDFF5CDD7DE}]

Save this as fix.reg and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop. It should look like this: Posted Image
Double-click on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click "Yes" or "OK". You should receive a message that it was successful.

Please let me know how it's running now and post a new HijackThis log.

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

* Open notepad - don't use any other text editor than notepad or the script will fail.
Copy/paste the text in the quote box below into notepad:

File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tuvtuur.dll

Save this as txtfile CFScript

Then drag the CFScript into ComboFix.exe as you see in the screenshot below.

Posted Image

This will start ComboFix again.

After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log.
Please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you.
Every little bit helps! :)
You can even use your credit card! Thank you!

It goes to "ComboFix is preparing to run" and then errors : I rebooted then tried and it ran.
Every 5-10 minutes it tries to go to web and says no connection available "work offline" or "try again".

Thank you so much for your help so far. Phil

Hello,

Well then ComboFix did its job. It's supposed to disconnect you from the net. You shouldn't be running anything else at the time anyway. Looks like we won that round.

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

O20 - Winlogon Notify: tuvtuur - tuvtuur.dll (file missing)

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer.

How is it running?

Regards,
tea

EDIT to add : Be sure you have all your protection in place, and I think it'll be all right to connect to the net. :)

You had a scorching case of Virtumonde, or Vundo. Let me know how you come out and we'll finish this cleanup.

Rebooted, enabled security and went online. Started IE a few times. Ran CA Spyware scan and found::

Bifrost med-high threat location: Key hkey_users \S-1-5-21-3820674483-829482997-83617....... can't see rest
2o7.net low location: Cookie C:\Documents snd Settings\Phillip Shuler|cookies\phillip......
Statcounter low location: Cookie C:\Documents snd Settings\Phillip Shuler|cookies\phillip......

No automatic web pages though and seems good.

What should I do????
