When I start AIM aolsoftware.exe is listed twice in the process manager. One closes when I end the process, the other pops back up when I close it. When I close AIM, they both disappear. Is this an infection? A google of aolsoftware.exe shows that it's supposed to happen with my version of AIM, and that I can find the exe in the common files/AOL folder, but I cannot find it, even after I set it to show hidden files and folders. I've found some sites saying that aolsoftware.exe may be a backdoor... I'm worried, and cautious. I don't see aolsoftware.exe in MSCONFIG... Couldn't find it in Autoruns either. Kaspersky didn't find anything either. So, now that I have exhausted everything I can personally do to find if this is a problem, I turn to the professionals...

Your log looks clean. I also just installed the latest Aim and when I run it I show two aolsoftware.exe processes at times as well. This looks normal.
