I can't seem to make any changes in the registry stay changed. I just want to change a few keys around but after a few minutes it just reverts back to normal. I've turned off DEP and my antivirus but I still can't make the change. I tried looking at my group policies to see if something was turned off but I couldn't find anything. It's a laptop with windows XP SP2. Standard laptop at my school (It's mine but the school gave it to me)
Any Ideas?

What kind of changes are you trying to make and how are you going about doing them?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

Sorry about the late reply. I'm trying to do a variety of things. I wanted to clean up my new context menu/. (ie. "new text document") I was also trying to add a new command to "copy to" a common location. It just changed back all my changes to the registry.

Would you suggest doing the changes through a command prompt or batch file? Would it make a difference?
