I am not sure where this should go.

I am getting an hour glass for most applications I use. This includes email on outlook express, excel, internet access. etc.

I look at the keyboard and the hourglass goes on.

I have run antispy and anti viruss. Cleaned out temp files , etc.

Did defrag and chkdsk/f

The PC is about a year old with AMD 3800 dual processor.

I shut down the firewall but the PC is still slow

Any idea what is going

Thanks

Bring up task manager and see what application/s is/are hogging your resources.

This tells me you have something going on with your firewall, hogging your resources. What firewall are you running?
