I would try deleting the appropriate cookies...and then attempt a new entry to the site. Your site cookies could be corrupt, it happens.

Is there any Proxy set or used?
Check to see if set to automatic:

In Firefox,
Go Tools/ Options/ Advanced/ click on the Network Tab, then click Settings.
Select the radio button that says Auto Detect Proxy Settings for all this Network
Click Okay

In Internet Explorer,
Go to Tools/ Internet Options/ click on the Connections tab, then click on LAN Settings.
Select Automatically Detect Settings
Click Okay twice.
Chaos reigns within.
Reflect, repent, and reboot.
Order shall return.

if you having trouble downloading from rapidshare its probably because your isp is bt
and there is problem with bt servers accessing rapidshare downloads, but there is a way
round it first try this paste the link you want to download in your browser for example

http://rapidshare.com/files//7897mydemofile

now change the first bit so it looks like this

https://www.rapidshare.com/files//7897mydemofile

now it should work if your still having problems try removing the s from the http bit
