My son downloaded Personal Inspector to our computer. I know this because when I rebooted the computer a message popped up about the trial period and did I want to order it. An icon appeared in the taskbar as well. I typed Personal Inspector into google and found the website- it's computer monitoring software with a keylogger. My computer history shows a visit and download from that site. I found it in the add/remove list and uninstalled. Now the icon doesn't appear in the taskbar so I'm hoping it's gone! I also set the computer to a limited account (user accounts) with me having a computer admin account protected with a password. I'm hoping that will keep him from downloading any more "crap" until I can get something better (parental control software).

My question is- what steps should I take to make sure this software is completely off of our computer and does anyone have a suggestion as to what parental control software would be best to use. I tried Net Nanny in the past and didn't like it.

I'm going to run my anti virus program in the meantime AntiVir and Spybot and Ad-Aware too.

Thanks in advance,
Kim

If it was a commercial keylogger, the uninstaller probably took care of it.
