PLEASE HELP

ok, i have xp professianal SP2. whenever i turn on my computer, it loads up n everything n then my antivirus Kaspersky says that WINDOWS\system32\services.exe is worm generic and leaves me with 3 options, quarantine, block or ignore. the first time i pressed block n then after about 2 mins this error message came up saying something like the system will shutdown, please save all work and log off, somethng something n then the shutdown is initiated or something like that by NT SHUTDOWN SYSTEM i think. It also has a little countdown timer of 1 minute. n then it says that this file WINDOWS/System32/services.exe suddenly closed n caused a problem or something like that. After the timer reaches 0, the window just closes with the computer still running. the second time i pressed ignore n it still gave me the same message. But after the message disappears whenever i try to do something, everything gets an error not responding

please help!

what does it do when you choose quarantine?

Will it boot in safe mode?
Chewy

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

whenever that message appears open a run command and type shutdown -a this command will abort that shutdown process.
