Hello,
I'am looking for a solution / fix for a problem that has just appeared on my computer.
The problem is each time I open my IE Explorer I get a pop up on my desktop tray that has the messages -
SYSTEM ERROR FOUND, SCAN YOUR PC NOW! or WARNING ERROR DETECTED, FIX IT NOW! If I click on this popup on my desktop tray it takes me to www.search-daily.com.
When I use Google and clck on any link, it redirects me to www.search-daily.com. Immediately after this appeared, I tried to remove the problem by running Ad-Ware SE / avg and Spybot - no luck. I run with a firewall from Sygate - free version and Avast spyware also a free version - both running all of the time. Up till now I have never experienced any problems. I would very much appreciate if someone out there has the time to help me out. I will try and respond to any help as quick as I can. Thanks in advance........bruincup

I apologize for the very long delay. We have a huge backlog of HijackThis Logs to handle and it has been taking us greater time than normal to get caught up. If you are still having a problem, and want us to analyze your information, please post a brand new hijackthis log. If we do not hear back from you within a couple of days we will need to close your topic.

When posting your logs please post them directly into the reply. Do not attach them.

Thank you for your patience.

I was told about netcom3 buy a friend, here is a link for some info.
http://www.scribd.com/doc/672918/Internet-Security-Suite-

I would strongly advise you not to buy it. It is a virtually unknown product, and there are internet security suites with much more established reputations available.
  • Run HijackThis
  • Click on Open the Misc Tools section
  • Tick these two options:
    • List also minor sections (full)
    • List empty sections (complete)
  • Now click on Generate StartupList log
  • Click Yes to the prompt
  • A notepad window will open
  • Copy and paste the contents of that window as a reply to this topic
  • Download GMER by GMER from here
  • Unzip it to a folder on your desktop
  • Double click on gmer.exe to launch GMER
  • If asked, allow the gmer.sys driver load
  • If it warns you about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan, click OK
  • If you don't get a warning then
    • Click the rootkit tab
    • Click Scan
  • Once the scan has finished, click copy
  • Paste the log into notepad using Ctrl+V
  • Save it to your desktop as gmerrk.txt
  • Copy and paste the contents of gmerrk.txt as a reply to this topic

Thanks for your advice on netcom 3. I have the start up list as you requested. I tries to run gmer like you asked but everytime I tried I got a couple minutes into it and my computer restarted out of the blue. I tried three times and the samething, one or two minutes into it my computer seems to kind of lock up and then restart. Any suggestions?

Copy/paste the following quote box into a new notepad (not wordpad) document. Make sure that wordwrap is turned off.

gmer.exe -protect

Save it to your Desktop (or wherever you saved gmer.exe) as launch.bat. Save it as:
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: launch.bat

Locate launch.bat on your Desktop and double-click it. This will launch GMER, now try running the rootkit scan

Let's try this instead

Download the latest version of ComboFix from Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

where are you trying to help me from?

The UK
  • Open a new notepad window (Start>All programs>accessories>notepad)
  • Highlight the contents of the below codebox and then press ctrl+c to copy it to the clipboard
    Registry::
     [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\lsa]
     "Notification Packages"=hex(7):73,63,65,63,6c,69,00,00
     [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
     "SpyClean"=-
     Driver::
     Netcom3
     Folder::
     C:\Program Files\Netcom3 Cleaner
  • Paste the contents of the clipboard into the notepad window by pressing ctrl+v or edit>paste
  • Save it to the desktop as CFscript.txt
  • Now drag and drop CFscript.txt onto combofix.exe as in the picture below and follow the prompts:
    Posted Image
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackThis log in your next reply
    Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
