Just joined, and have a few questions:

What kind of site is this? A computer technical services site, programming, html, or just general tutorials of all of the above?

BTW: I look forward to a long happy stay....

Hi and welcome to BC.
Our site is primarily about asking for and
receiving help with computers, their functions,
applications, hardware, software, and everything
else you can think of. We also have a place or two
where you can just sit back and have fun, play a game,
or read our tutorials.
Welcome aboard and enjoy your visits.

We are all curious like a cat. We wonder, we ask, we learn.
Please post back when a suggestion works, so that others may learn.

after checking it (and the features here) out for a while, Heretic Monkey.

We enjoy your questions

If memory serves me right, BC started with the primary emphsis on computer security, and much of the various sections remain security- - -in the broadest sense- - -oriented.
However, the site was also conceived as a place users could come to for help, and this lead to the expansion of the tutorials and forums to include a wider range of computer topics.
Welcome to BC!
Regards,
John
