In the last couple of days I participated in 3 threads, all of which the problem was solved.
One thread was closed, this one-
The two other threads remained open-
Just curious as to the why one was closed and the other two not.

The reason for the one thread being closed is because there was a HJT log attached. Many newer members may or may not realize that HijackThis Logs are only to be responded to by Bleeping Computer Moderating and Admin staff or one of our Trained HijackThis Staff. We are reluctant to leave a topic open with a log where someone may leave guidance that is unsafe. Or for that matter another member or visitor who may find the log via google, and follow the suggestions given, which may not be advisable. Also I closed that topic with a comment http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...st&p=665302 so that any staff member glancing at topics would not see the log and immediately move it to the misplaced logs forum unnecessarily.

As a general rule topics are not necessarily closed. But there are certain times that we may feel one needs to be, and we do so at our discretion.

I hope this answers your question.

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

If i me so bold

while the line identified in this log is flagged as malware ,there are more problem's evident in that log .

And that's why members of the hjt team should only answer.
It's easy to spot problem's but removing them is a diffrent matter.
god my head hurts.
if you don't ask ,you don't know
