Hello jonas343,

Download WinPFind3U.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files.

It will create a folder named WinPFind3u on your desktop.
Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.

In the Files Created Within group click 30 days
In the Files Modified Within group select 30 days
In the File String Search group select Non-Microsoft
Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.

When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is, then click on it to uncheck it.

Please post the resulting log here as an attachment.

Hi jonas343,

Start WinPFind3U.
Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the pane where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

The fix should only take a very short time.
When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished.
Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix.

Post that information back here along with a new WinPFind3u scan. Attach the WinPFind3u scan.

I will review the information when it comes back in.

The fix should only take a very short time.
When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished.
Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix.
Post that information back here along with a new WinPFind3u scan. Attach the WinPFind3u scan
I will review the information when it comes back in.

Yeah, I assumed it was something like that.. Its doing the same thing now after the fix.

I'm wondering if I should turn off things like the avast resident and winpatrol before I do a fix, since I always stop the files and registry changes they detect. Does doing that make any difference?

I appreciate the help though Mike, here are the logs:

Yes, that makes a big difference. Half the files are not there becasue you AV and winpatrol are removing or blocking them.
Lets try again, and this time disable your antivirus, winpatrol and any other registry protector you have running.

Be back in a few minutes with a fresh Winpfind3u that you can run.

Hi jonas343,

ahhhhhh its back again..

Yes, because it was unable to find process kcwvsetq.exe. Every other file was deleted.

Are you rebooting your computer frequently? Every time you reboot the file names will change, so do not reboot between posting the WinPfind3u log and making the fix with the new log I post.

I asked you to disable your AVAST antivirus, WinPatrol, but did your also disable Teatimer before running WinPFind3U?

I am thinking that you may have vundo infection that is older than 30 days on your computer and I am missing it with the scan. So lets run another WinPFind3U scan.

Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.

In the Files Created Within group click 60 days
In the Files Modified Within group select 60 days
In the File String Search group select Non-Microsoft
Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.

When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is, then click on it to uncheck it.

Please post the resulting log here as an attachment.

Hi Mike, I have been gone for the past few days and will not be back until Sunday, and I haven't had the chance to run the scan again.

The last time I ran the fix the computer froze for a long time (30 mins) so I shut it down with the power button and ran the fix on the next reboot.

Also, this infection is only 5 or 6 days old as of today, since it came from a bad file off bittorent - its defintely a trojan. My computer is actually brand new, I got it about a week ago.

The computer is from M-Tech Laptops, a custom manufacturer, so it might be that my XP (w service pack 2) came pre-tweaked. I can call them and ask if this is a possibility.

Also, I have ZoneAlarm on, do I need to disable it? I am pretty sure TeaTimer and all my other programs are disabled btw, but Ill make sure they are next time.

Ill give you a new scan on Sunday, but does this change anything?

No need to disable ZoneAlarm. You only need to disable Teatimer, WinPatrol and your Antivirus when doing the fix.

The computer is from M-Tech Laptops, a custom manufacturer, so it might be that my XP (w service pack 2) came pre-tweaked. I can call them and ask if this is a possibility

.

Are you sure this is new computer and not a used computer?

Any peer-to-peer file swapping program, such as Audiogalaxy, Bearshare, Blubster, E-Mule, Gnucleus, Grokster, Imesh, KaZaa, KaZaa Lite, Limewire, Morpheus, Shareaza, WinMX and Xolox can degrade system performance and consume vast amounts of storage and may create security issues as outsiders are granted access to internal files. They are often bundled with adware or spyware.
Recently, P2P programs have been used for identity theft.

I recommend you uninstall all peer-to-peer file swapping programs.

If I've saved you time & money,
please make a donation so I can keep helping people just like you! You can donate using a credit card and PayPal. Thank you!
