I'm a 66 yo user who understands a little bit computers and related technologies but by no means is an expert on these matters.

I live in MT but currently I'm in Costa Rica for the winter.

I don't know how it happened but my computer got infected by all kinds of 'trash', and I need to get rid of it.

I've installed and run several utility programs (spybot, AVG, Lavasoft)to deal with those problems but still I'm having problems.
For example, in trying to determine why the Tools/Internet option when launched returns a message saying restrictions do not allow me to perform that operation, I discovered the Hijackthis program.

I just run it and found lots of information I do not understand and would like your help on this.

I will be posting the log I got and I'm looking forward to reading your comments.

Be sure to post it in the HijackLog Forum, where our volunteer team of experts can review the data and help you remove the malware.

to all, thank you for your posts.

Currently, I'm downloading and executing all of those programs I need to run to clean my computer.

Several viruses were detected and removed.

I'm impressed by this site. The information it contains is easy to follow, especially for a person my age whose brains no longer work the way it used to.

Thanks again, glad to be here
