Log On Box Windows Xp Home

I use the switch user which logs me off instead of closing Windows . After I return and try to log back in, the log in box will apprear But when I type in my password I see no dots being type. And we just sit here . If I wait long enough I will hear a crip . Then the dots will apprear and everything is fine. Today I had the same thing happen when I was typing into Yahoo search. My question did not type in .

Is there a good software I can get to repair Xp back to almost new ?

are you sure this isnt just a memory/hard problem?like lag?

I suggest you review the slow computer thread... and see if that resolves your issues.

I'm also inclined to think it's a lack of resources and should be fairly straight forward to fix up.
