Ram Question

i just bought a new computer its a hp media center pc 864n the problem im having is that the computer is very slow it only has 256mbs or ddr ram pc 2100 it has a 400/533 fsb if that helps but i also have a 256mb ddr 400mhz pc 3200 chip i got from a friend in hopes that it would help speed things along but before i put this chip in i thought i'd ask if i should because their not the same speed and i dont want to mess things up so any suggestions would help thank you

You can put in the other ram, your PC3200 will operate at the same speed as the 2100. You should notice an increase in speed too. I would recomend, if you've the money, to put 1 gig of ram in. That will help a whole lot in terms of speed. :thumbsup:

I would suggest you see if you trade those sticks for 2 512mb pc3200 sticks.
