Hello s35,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer

First you should know that you're actually doing more harm than good by running 2 Anti Virus programs and firewalls. (One Care and McAfee) When you do this both programs compete for resources, and the end result is neither does it's best and can cause system instability. I recommend that you choose the one you want to keep, update it, disable the other one, and use it as an on demand only scan occasionally.

Go to start -> control panel -> Display properties -> Desktop -> Customize Desktop... -> Web tab, then uncheck and delete everything you find in there (except for "My current home page"),

Also remove the checkmark from the the Lock Desktop Items box if it is checked.
Apply.
Apply and Exit Display properties.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply please, along with a new HijackThis log.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Thanks,
tea

Hello,

Please do this for McAfee :

Download the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licens...atches/MCPR.exe
Click Save and save the file to any folder on the computer.
Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.
Double-click MCPR.exe.
Click Run. A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically. Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed.
Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear.
After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup.
Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window:
The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n]
Press Y on the keyboard.
Wait for the computer to restart.
All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.
These McAfee removal instructions can be found at http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/faq3.asp?docid=408302

Let me know how that goes, and please post a new HijackThis log so I can see if it's gone now.

Thanks,
tea
