I would appreciate any help....
My internet has been running slow for a few weeks.....The motherboard was recently replaced (computer kept restarting...warranty company diagnosed bad motherboard..and that seems to be fixed)...the slow internet coincided with spyware attacks (which Grinler fixed) and motherboard replacement (both happened same week)...I have cable internet and loading webpages takes as long as dial-up....but downloads are as quick as they should be...checked with cable company...ran test downloads...all is well on their end.....must be my computer...

I do not see anything on this log that would cause the problems you are having. When you reboot your computer is spybot warning you that something is attempting to make changes? If so, let the changes happen and then post a log

no, I am not getting any warnings on start up....

do I have too many programs running? If so how do I get them not to start up when I turn on the computer?

Click on start, then run, and type msconfig and press the ok button.

Click on the startup tab and uncheck the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Works Update Detection] C:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\WkDetect.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Compaq_RBA] C:\Program Files\Compaq\Compaq Advisor\bin\compaq-rba.exe -z
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

Say ok and reboot when it asks. This will disable the above 5 from running automatically. You can fool around with the other HP startups to see what you can disable without affecting your printing.
