Ok, I recently got ahold of a lexmark x1270 printer and went to go install it, The installer(The CD) copied all the files fine and stuff, but when I go to start it up it says "The Lexmark 1200 series printer driver is not installed. Please reinstall your printer driver". Ok, so I take those drivers off, and find the newest ones off the lexmark website, when I install those I get the same message.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

Did you hook up the printer before installing the software? Try uninstalling the printer then reinstall it. Be sure to follow their specific directions

Yes, ive tried step by step installing it 3 times, and get the same error each time with both sets of drivers to install.

1. was the usb cord connected during the installation?
2. was the power connected to the printer?
3. was the printer powered on?
4. are there any errors in the system event logs?
