hi there before i start gotta say thankyou in advance as you seem to be pretty damn good at solving other peoples problems :flowers:

now where to start

operating system=xp pro sp2.
Browsers=ie7, netscape9, and opera.
Antivirus & Firewall (antispam, antimalware, and antispyware)=AVG 7.5.503 fully up to date.

Problem occured=3days ago after instaling TubeSucker a youtube video downloader, scanned with norton.... and after norton was removed tried scanning with avg everything showed a'ok.......

well yes i had norton with an expired liscence but uninstalled it and today ran the norton remover tool... problem persisted.
activated various security protocols (ssl2,ssl3, and tsl1, 128bit encription, etc etc),,, problem still persisted
windows live messenger gives me the error code
:-81000306 ....
checked up on it and done everything every site has ever suggested to try and fix................ result............. still doesn't work currently dl'ing combofix as i saw it posted in one of your similar problems..... i know a little about computers (stress on the little part) so i know how to follow instructions to fix quite easily....the fact that the secure sites issue is related is not a mystery either.....
only thing that baffles me is all the other posts on this type of issue have mentioned some kind of error msg in the browser.. i just watched the pages loading to half way then they kinda freeze (won't load anyfurther) no time out or dns error msgs.. tried all the cache clearing and dns flushing (???not sure if thats right but did the flushing clearing thing???)
i use netscape9, ie7 (dl'd after problem to try and fix the error) and just dl'd operas latest to see if there was something that could fix the issues built into the instals of both ie7 and opera. no such luck (thought they might check security setting on instal), the same problem effects all browsers. also tried updating on microsoft site to check for xp updates.... after trying to check my computer to see what updates i needed, it gave me the error...

I would uninstall Tube sucker and see if the problem still persists. If everything's OK I would download the program to the Desktop and reboot to safemode, open, and install it from there. It appears it can be rather tricky to install. There are some issues you can read about here:

hmmm strange discovery my mobile internet can nolonger view all the above mentioned pages.... kinda leaves me to think that celtel in thier rush to provide gprs have screwed up somewhere and this is one of the reasons why they stopped sending out settings.... any thoughts??

fyi celtel is a mobile company in malawi... oh and the pages all loaded fine till a few days ago. seeing as they just freeze might have something to do with celtels servers not being setup properly???

heya again got my own lil investigation going here heh :cool: its not going to well but i may have a new possibilty for the problem. as i have just reinstalled windows after a lengthy backup routine :inlove: well it fixed the search problem :thumbsup: but not the site loading issues or live msnger or the update problem either.... :trumpet: well its one of two things 1: celtel aren't telling me what is wrong with thier service... so leaves me believing it might be them.. :)
or 2: its my sony erricsson k750i that is not allowing the comp to comunicate with secure sites properly.... :flowers: so either way bastard isn't really the right strength of the problem now as i haven't got the slightest clue how to check inside the phone for the appropriate security settings to be edited besides the normal way on the phone itself which btw ive done done and done but still nothing... thinking the phone may have an ip like a router/modem to access the real security settings??????
which i'm assuming is the default gateway on the ipconfig read out but the satanic piece of electronics has a username and password request login popup B) thank you sony :)
will now hunt online for default passwords etc etc wish me luck
