I run Win XP home, and I always keep my Quick Launch bar visible by checking it in my right click on the Toolbar menu and the right click desktop menu for align desktop icons unchecked.
Whenever I reboot I have to unhide my Quick launch bar. Also all my desktop icons selection is checked again to align to a grid.
Also I've tried locking the Taskbar before shutting down too to no avail.
It's got me puzzled.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Floyd

Thanks Quietman, but the show desktop icon is OK. My entire Quick Launch bar disappears after a reboot. I have it checked in the "Start Menu" properties and that stays checked on reboot, but the only way I can get it to reappear is to right click on a blank spot of the Toolbar and select Toolbars and recheck the Quick Launch selection there. Then it shows up fine until I reboot again.

Do you have the option selected to lock the taskbar?

Next time you reboot, do whatever you have to do to get the Quick Launch toolbar to reappear. Once you have the Quick Launch toolbar present, Lock the taskbar from the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties applet.

| right-click Taskbar >> Properties >> check Show Quick Launch >> check Lock Taskbar >> click Apply |

-OR-

| right-click Taskbar >> point to Toolbars >> Quick Launch >> right-click Taskbar >> click Lock taskbar |
