Hi twothings, Welcome to the forum,

We are sorry for the delay in responding. The volunteers here are swamped and unfortunately not all logs get answered as quickly as we'd like. If you still require help please post a new HijackThis log into this topic and I'd be happy to assist.

Thanks

Andy

Thanks TwoThings,

There's no obvious signs of malware in the log but its best to start with a couple of scans to check the full system for any problems, it could be the amount of protection programs running thats causing the slowdown (Windows Defender, AVG Anti-Spyware, AVG Antivirus, WinPatrol & Mamutu) , Ive not used most of those programs so Im not sure if any would conflict with each another or if they use alot of system resources but if your PC is taking 5 minutes to start up there's clearly some problem so it maybe worth testing if its still the same with them disabled,

Run HijackThis and choose Do A System Scan then place a check next to these entries

Next can you upload a file so I can make sure its legit, Please visit the below link

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-mal....php?channel=27

In the Link to topic where this file was requested: area copy and paste this

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/115536/computer-slowness/

In the Browse to the file you want to submit: area, copy and paste this

C:\WINDOWS\ProPatches\APSvc.exe

Then click Send File and it will show the below message

Your file was successfully submitted. Please let the user helping you know that you have submitted the file.

If you have the Windows disc run the system file checking feature to make sure none of the protected Windows files are damaged or corrupt.

Goto Start Menu -> Run -> type

SFC /SCANNOW

(There's a space after SFC) , Press OK and it will run the System File Checker. Follow the prompts, and insert your Windows installation CD if requested.

Finally use the Internet Explorer browser (or FireFox with IETab), and do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner

Note: If you have used this particular scanner before, you MAY HAVE TO UNINSTALL the program through Add/Remove Programs before downloading the new ActiveX component

Click Yes, when prompted to install its ActiveX component.
(Note.. for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the "Accept" button of the license, click on the "Zoom" tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license has been accepted, reset to 100%.)
The program launches and downloads the latest definition files.
  • Once the files are downloaded click on Next
  • Click on Scan Settings and configure as follows:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:Scan Archives
      Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK and, under select a target to scan, select My Computer
When the scan is done, in the Scan is completed window (below), any infection is displayed.
There is no option to clean/disinfect, however, we need to analyze the information on the report.

Thanks for your patience TwoThings,

That's a clean log and I can see you have addressed the problems Kaspersky detected, just fix this entry with HijackThis:

Run HijackThis and choose Do A System Scan then place a check next to this entry

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {FC09D8A3-C85A-11d2-92D0-0000F87A4A55} - (no file)

Close all open browser and other windows except for HijackThis and press the Fix Checked button

Can you run Blacklight just to make sure there's no hidden files found

Download Blacklight HERE and save it to your desktop.
Run the program, accept statement > click next then scan
When its finished scanning exit the program and post back the log if it detects hidden files, The log is called 'fsbl-<date/time>.log' which will save to the same location as the fsbl.exe file.

Please post the log back if any hidden files are detected and let us know if the system is still taking a long time to startup ?

EDIT:
If it is still taking a long time to startup please can you test if its being caused by an installed program by booting to Safe Mode (Reboot and tap the F8 key then choose Safe Mode from the Advanced options menu), if it starts up fine in Safe Mode then its very likely a program that is installed which is causing the slowdown or conflicting with another program in Normal Mode as most third party programs will not be loaded in Safe mode, assuming that it does start fine in safe mode you will then be best using MSConfig's (Start > Run > MSConfig) Startup tab to disable items then reboot and reenable them one at a time to try find which are causing the problems

Let us know how it goes

Thanks

Andy
