How do i reformat my D drive when there is an error:

window cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no window is displaying the contact of this drive. Then try formatting again.

In the D drive, i deleted everything in it. But i just cant format it.
It is not a window drive, my window is in C drive

Would you please post the make and model of you computer, if it is a custom build let us know.

If this is a Dell it could be the partition for the direct repair, this can be used rather than using the repair console on the disc.

If you look in My computer what does the D drive show up as, a hard drive or an optical drive?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
