I have a Dell Vista Machine which has 4 memory slots. Currently only 1 in use and I bought another stick to add. Question is which slot do I insert the new stick into?? The 2nd, 3rd, or 4th?? Also 2 of the slots have white tabs and 2 have black tabs, is that a problem?? Thanks for any help???? The memory is PC2 5300 if anyone needs to know.

It sounds like they are laid out for dual channel population, if you have one module in 1 then the second module should go in 3. Did you purchase exact same modules, in order to run dual channel your modules must have the exact same specs.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
