Hi Folks

OE msimn.exe takes 100% cpu on start up

Any ideas how to fix this. I have tried registry repairs, removing in add and remove windows components and putting back, clearing prefetch.

HELP

msimn.exe running at 100% can be a symptom of the W32/Forbot-TY worm. Have you done your anti-malware scans recently?

Two other things you can try:

Run the System File Checker (How to Use SFC.EXE to Repair System Files).

Try the fix given on this Microsoft page.

Hi there

Still no luck with OE. Have run two sacnning programmes and no nasties I can see. No running sfc as suggested Warning to anybody running this, make sure your Screen saver is turned off and all seetings in power saver set to none as touching either Enter of space bar stops this running.

Good afternoon
Many thanks Budapest for ideas.
I have now fixed the problem. For some reason known to Bill Gates (the deity) OE had a created More than one Inbox.bdx and given the extra ones numbers. With these deleted OE now runs again but I have lost the contents of the Inbox. All other boxes are still there with data.
