My computer freezes often and randomly while online. ONLY THE WINDOW THAT IS ONLINE FREEZES. In other words, if I have a word file or other windows open they will be fine. When I x-out of the online window (which is the only thing it allows me to do), I can open it right back up and it will work fine, until it decides to freeze again.

I opened the Event Viewer and this is the message I am given................

OK, I did that...opened IE7 without addons, and YES, this made it stop freezing up. However, now videos will not run and many pictures will not open. Songs will also not play. Is there another way to fix this problem so I can use the addons and it won't freeze? This computer is about 9 months old and this problem began about a month ago.

Well, I would check Event Viewer for clues and dump the cache.

I might also consider reinstalling SP2 of XP, since that is the suggested way to repair IE.

Use Firefox cause it doesn't freeze or mess up things.

lol, a option but not the best option cth_tom :thumbsup:

ok monica516, seeing as it worked without addons, run through again, without addons, and enable them one by one until you find the culprit, then either re-install that addon or dont use it!

goodluck =)
