Last week I was surfing when firefox needed an update. I just clicked "update later". I eventually close my browser. an hour later, firefox can't connect to the internet. Internet explorer worked fine, but it could noy use google toolbar, open links or download. I reset my computer.

the next day it still doesn't work. My dad unplugs the internet and reconnects it. It is still the same as yesterday.

later that week I uninstall firefox thinking I could reinstall it.I forgot that my IE couldn't do anything in that deppartment.

After a few days of screwing around I found that If I copy links as shortcuts and paste them on my desktop I could have windows select the program to use IE to open the link.

It' very odd my problem, links sometimes work, and sometimes don't. Whenever I click on a link that doesn't work a window pops up that says "Application not found". there's a big circle with a white next to it.

goolge toolbar has been made useless and the same message pops up.

Hi Mr_Red_X,

Have a look through this article Error Loading Websites.
It offers solutions to errors you may receive in Firefox, when trying to connect to some or all websites.

I no longer have firefox. I uninstalled it a week ago. I now can't re-install it due to the fact my IE can't download anything.

Sorry Mr_Red_X, I read that you were still running Firefox.

Internet explorer worked fine, but it could noy use google toolbar, open links or download

So infact, IE also stopped working at same time?

I reset my computer

Can you provide some details on how you reset your computer?
