Start Up In Xp Home

I have Windows Xp Home on my desktop, and when I went to start up I get a message ' This system could not log you on. Make sure your User Name & domain are correct then type your password again. I have not had a password for logging on and this is the first time I have had this problem. Hope you can help me. Thanks, Yvonne

Did you try booting into Safe Mode?
