Hi everyone,
my son uses hotmail as his email account, but cannot log in at the moment.
he can access his login page via:

But when he enters his username and password and presses LOGIN

He might want to check his browser security settings, which may be blocking some needed function to sign in.

John

Hi,
checked all browser settings, all seemed ok.
Went onto msn help, they suggested downloading all critical updates from windows update, did that.
Now, cannot use IE!!
error 29 appears each time i want to surf.
BT signs on ok, but cannot launch IE 6.
Any ideas??
How can i reinstall win98SE?? or better still, could i upgrade to winxp??
What would i have to do??

Many thanks
Geoff

WAIT FOR THE EXPERTS TO REPLY

BUT when I used to have such problems with my sons PC I simply Inserted Win98 discs and installed again. It was simple quick and safe, as it backed everything up.
About once a month I did it untill he learned what not to destroy.lol

BUT maybe BC needs to check out your PC files first, cus reinstalling wont get rid of every nasty.

Hi, good idea,
unfortunately, when the computer was new the OS was Win98, it developed a fault,
went back to manufacturers who installed Win98 SE.
So i only have disks for original OS and not the second edition they installed.
Could i use these??

Many thanks
Geoff

Think that it will warn you that you are installing an Older Version to whats loaded. Not sure if you can still accept that or just Browse the CD and install the IE bits. Personally if it was MY Sons I would just back up whats Vital to him and try........ But then I am Cavalier by nature and figure theres always a way out of everything apart from Death and Taxes

Soory cant help more BUT do not want to mislead you when there are real experts here to help, not just Frustrated a Highly Technical Computer User like me. See I use computers, even know how they work, even play with advanced stuff.........but I am a moron compared to these Software guys and gals

If l try to use IE a script error 29 is shown. So for now he WILL use Firefox :flowers:
Until l can reinstall IE6

Many thanks
Geoff
