First thing I would try is to update the driver for the CD drive.

"It"...where exactly (what screen) are you looking when you see this yellow exclamation mark?

Does the BIOS accurately reflect the CD drive?

Have you tried cleaning the lens of the drive?

Check the connections?

Check Event Viewer for errors indicating a problem with any drive?

does it even show a cd drive?

try this

NOTE: BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST. DELETING THE WRONG KEYS ETC. IN THE REGISTRY CAN RENDER YOUR COMPUTER UNBOOTABLE. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU TRY THIS AND IT BREAKS YOUR PC, DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. and have fun in the process

left click start>run. type "regedit" (no talking marks)

navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

delete the LowerFilter and UpperFilter keys. restart your pc and see how it goes!

goodluck

lol realistically your pc will be fine, if you touch *those 2 keys* and those 2 keys *only*

the disclaimer is there so if say u go and shift+delete hk-current user part, then comeback and say "o i followed ur instructions now my pc is cactus ur fault cu in court"

worth a shot though...

I did not see it had been.

the service tag allows me to see the exact system specifications.
the bios revision let me know if you've ever updated the BIOS.
