Trouble Playing Games On High Graphics

Hi there.

I'm having trouble playing games on high graphics with a high resoultion. The computer freezes for about 10seconds and then goes on agian but it happens very regularly in different games. I have a 256MB Geforce 7600GT and 2Gb ram running win xp.

what kinda games you playing?

what are the general specs of your computer?

you dont have to much garbage running in the background do you (ie not formatted for 2+years)?

the 7600gt's arent exactly the highest of high end vid cards, so to say..but are you getting just general low fps? or good fps but then the misc freezes?

otherwise run a memtest, and if you have another vid card to test with, stick that in and give it a whirl.
