Hey guys, i've got a problem with my computer, and would like if anyone could help me. Sometimes, when my pc loads the startup programs, they dont all load and the hard disk light stoped working. Bust most of the time, all my startup programs load without a problem. This stratup problem has appeared after i download a torrent of kaskpersky. when the installation was complete, i tried to open the window, and i got this black screen with a bliking white line. I immidiatly closed the window because i knew it was installing a virus of some kind. I restarted my pc and that's when i started to get problems. I downloaded smitfraudfix to get rid of any infections. I think it worked, but i still get this program loading problem on startup sometimes. Any help would get greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello are you able to run the kaspersky scan. You may have already picked up the malware.
How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook

i still get this program loading problem on startup sometimes.

What is the name of the program? Are you getting error messages such as:

"RUNTIME ERROR, FILE NOT FOUND"
"RUNDLL ERROR LOADING C:\Windows\System32\xxx.dll THE SPECIFIED MODULE CANNOT BE FOUND"
"WINDOWS CANNOT FIND C:\WINDOWS\xxxxxx.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again"
"RunDLL32 Failed to load...The file cannot be found"

Then your saying the specific problem is that some programs are not loading at startup? Again, what programs are not loading? Did you use msconfig or a startup manager to disable anything?

You see most of the time the pc loads without a problem, but sometimes some startup programs dont load, and i dont know wich ones. I have disabled some useless programs from msconfig because they take alot of memory and make my pc slower. What should i do?

Download Startup Tracker3.zip and save to your desktop.
  • Create a new folder on your hard drive and name it Startup Tracker - C:\Startup Tacker.
  • Extract (unzip) the file to the new folder you created. (click here if your not sure how to do this)
  • Open that folder, double-click StartupTracker3.exe and click "Continue" when it opens.
  • Click "View log".
  • Notepad will open displaying the results in startuplog.txt.
  • Save the log to your desktop and click "Exit".
  • Copy/paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

None of these programs are set to run at startup, because you have them disabled.

Privacy Control Center
DeleteSatellite
googletalk
GrooveMonitor
iTunesHelper
LogitechDesktopMessenger
NeroCheck
qttask
PDVDServ
SpywareTerminatorShield
GhostSurf proxy
HP Digital Imaging Monitor
HP Image Zone Fast Start
Logitech Desktop Messenger
Logitech SetPoint
Microsoft Office
Privacy Auditor
SpyCatcher Protector
Scheduler

You need to re-enable any of them if you want them to load.

These programs are running at startup but are not required and can be disabled.

SunJavaUpdateSched - "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched.exe"
AlcxMonitor - ALCXMNTR.EXE
HP Software Update - C:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd2.exe
QuickTime Task - "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

Although it works as a basic startup manager, msconfig should not be used routinely to disable auto-start programs. Further, msconfig does not list all applications loaded in all possible startup locations (some entry points are hidden and unknown to the user) and does not allow the complete removal of disabled entries from its list. You should not use msconfig to disable startup applications related to a running service. Doing so alters the registry and there are services that are essential for hardware and booting your system. When you uncheck a service in msconfig, you completely disable it. If you uncheck the wrong one, you may not be able to restart your computer. You should only disable services using Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.

A better alternative is to use a startup manager like Startup Control Panel, Autoruns or Starter by CodeStuff.
If you untick an entry it will no longer run at startup. This will allow you to experiment and see how your system performs with any of them disabled. Note: some startup programs are necessary so be careful what you disable.
