For some VERY strange reason, when i press certain buttons it puts on different characters.
Examples:
I want to press question mark but I get:
Apostrophe:
Quotation marks:
Greater than: "
Less than: '
and so on. I have a Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A. What should I do

Have you checked that your regional settings are correct to your region? I'm assuming XP and United States. Replace US with yours if different. To verify Go to ....

Start >> Control panel
(pick a Category) Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options
(pich a Task) Regional and Language options

Tab 1 Regional Options
Should say United States (next to customize button)
Tab 2 Languages >> Details
Should say United States
Tab 3 Advanced
Should say United States

After making changes tap Apply and Ok buttons

Have to ask. My regional settings show no options for Canada,Except for French (Canada). So what is yours set to?
Do you also have Office XP on here? Two issues I've found.
If so 2 things to try
Try Pressing, Alt-Shift and see
See if Ctfmon.exe is running in Device Manager

You may want to remap those keys. Keytweak is a free keyboard remapper for Windows NT/2000/XP. It makes use of Microsoft's Scancode Map registry key to remap your keyboard.

Mine is set to "English (Canada)"..I have XP Pro. Currently I'm not having the problem and ctfmon.exe is running. When the problem happens again, I will check if it is running. Thank you for your help.

Try remapping the individual keys you need.

It's a PS2 keyboard. I tried remapping, but no results.
