I don't have a clue about this that started happening yesterday to my home PC.

I click on Stand by and the system takes about 3 seconds to go into Stand By (as it did always in my PC) but when I can no longer hear the buzz and sound of the hard drive and fan (meaning it has gone into Stand By) ... imediately the PC turns on.

any clues?

voidstuff,

Is your computer in any type of network? Are you connected to a switch/router? If so this could be caused by the WOL feature.

I am connected to a router. But Today I fixed the issue by unclicking the option on keyboard configuration "allow this device to bring computer out of sleep". Did it first with the mouse, but did not work; then with the keyboard and then the computer went to stand by with no problems.

It is still very strange, at least for me. Of course I never typed any key of the keyboard when going to Standby !!!
